Inverness went down to a well organised Spartans side at the weekend. It was a pretty even start to the game before the home team opened the scoring on 13 mins when Leanne Calder burst through and beat the keeper with a well placed shot. Spartans pressed for an equaliser and couldn’t believe their luck when they were awarded the softest of penalty kicks with 3 mins of the half remaining. They converted from the spot to make it 1-1 at the interval. The Edinburgh side dominated the second half and netted 3 times without reply to run out convincing winners.
