Inverness travelled to Lennoxtown to face league leaders Celtic and were soundly beaten despite a brave performance. The Highland side contained the eager Celtic forwards until they fell behind in the 32nd minute and it was 2-0 shortly afterwards. The hoops scored a killer third goal in first half injury time. Celtic poured forward after the break and scored at regular intervals before Tammy Harkin netted a late consolation goal with a fine effort from the edge of the box.
