Scottish Cup 2nd RoundInverness Ladies narrowly avoided a shock cup exit when they recovered from 2-0 down to squeeze past first division Hutchison Vale after extra time. The first half proved to be a nightmare for the Highland side and they were fortunate to only trail by two goals at half time. The second half saw little improvement and it took a fortuitous own goal on 59 mins when a Hutchy defender turned a Lorraine Cadden cross into her own net. This failed to inspire Inverness and they looked to be heading out of the cup until Zoe Johnstone levelled the scores with the last kick of the game when she blasted a 20 yard free kick high into the net. Extra time saw Inverness dominate for the first time and Johnstone fired them ahead for the first time on 98 mins. Inverness were now pouring forward and Johnstone struck both the post and the crossbar as a very relieved Inverness side stumbled into the next round.
