Scottish Women’s Premier League

Inverness returned from Ibrox Stadium were they were denied a deserved victory by a last minute goal. After a fairly even start the Highland side took the lead on 29mins when Natalie Bodiam rounded the keeper to score. Rangers equalised on the stroke of half time when the visitors failed to cope with a free kick. Inverness pushed forward in the second half and were rewarded when Zoe Johnstone fired them ahead but another poorly defended free kick allowed Rangers to level within 5 mins. Bodiam’s blistering pace was causing the Rangers defence problems and with 20mins remaining she again outstripped the home defence and squared for Leanne Calder to fire Inverness ahead for the third time. Lisa Mckenzie came agonisingly close to securing victory with a fine glancing header and then a rasping shot which just cleared the cross bar before a last minute goal robbed them of a deserved victory.
