Scottish Women’s Premier League

Inverness Ladies were left to rue a very dodgy refereeing decision as they lost a very tight game at Hamilton. Finella Annand came close to opening the scoring in the first minute as Inverness started brightly but they went a goal down on four mins when they failed to deal with an in swinging free kick and Hamilton took the lead. Both teams had chances in the remainder of a fairly even first half. Inverness looked the brighter side in the second half as they chased the equaliser and were denied by a mysterious offside decision on 61 mins. Lorraine Cadden picked out Leanne Calder with a perfect cross and she beat the keeper with a blistering strike. The visitor’s celebrations were cut short by a very late offside decision by the referee’s assistant. Calder however wasn’t to be denied and with ten mins remaining she blasted a 25 yard free kick high into the net for a well deserved equaliser. Inverness went all out for the winner but were caught on the break as Hamilton netted what proved to be the winner on 85 mins.

Kim Jappy, Sarah Main, Karen Mason, Megan McCarthy, Molly Alexander, Lorraine Cadden, Lisa Mackenzie, Finella Annand, Laura McLeod (Zoe Johnstone 45 mins), Leanne Calder, Kirsty Deans (Natalie Bodiam 62 mins).
