Scottish Women’s Premier League A poor first half performance cost Inverness Ladies all 3 points last weekend in atrocious conditions. Dundee United coped better in the rain and were mainly in control from kick off and it was no surprise when they took advantage of some poor defending to open the scoring after 23 minutes. Inverness failed to learn from their mistakes and were punished 7 mins later when United doubled their lead. The home side managed to survive without any further mishaps until half time. Inverness started the second half in more aggressive fashion and pulled a goal back when Leanne Calder fired home after some neat play. Suddenly, it was the visitors on the back foot as the home side went in search of an equaliser but they couldn’t breach the well organised visitors defence as United ran out worthy winners. Team Kim Jappy, Sarah Main, Karen Mason, Megan McCarthy, Molly Alexander, Laura McLeod (Leanne Calder 35 mins), Zoe Johnstone, Finella Annand, Lorraine Cadden, Natalie Bodiam (Kirsty Deans 75 mins), Lisa Mackenzie.
