Scottish Cup 3rd Round Inverness Ladies were knocked out off the Scottish Cup and learnt just how tough it will be playing against Premier League teams should they gain promotion this season. Despite a bright start which saw Leanne Calder strike the post in the opening minutes they fell behind after a defensive error on 12 mins. Hamilton doubled their lead on 28 mins following a lightning quick move which split the Inverness defence wide open. Rebecca Dempster pulled a goal back on 42 mins with a tremendous strike into the top corner off the net but Hamilton restored their two goal lead before half time with another excellent move. Inverness started the second half on the front foot and Calder was very unlucky to see her lob beat the keeper and rebound off the crossbar. Despite their efforts Inverness just couldn’t find the goal that would have taken them back into the tie and their fate was sealed with 5 mins remaining when Hamilton netted a fourth from the penalty spot. Team Kim Jappy, Sarah Main, Karen Mason, Dawn Fraser, Molly Alexander (Claire Mackay 70mins), Lisa Mackenzie, Finella Annand, Lisa Glennie, Rebecca Dempster, Leanne Calder, Natalie Bodiam (Lorraine Cadden 50mins).
