Scottish League Cup 2nd Round Inverness Ladies crashed out of the League cup after a thrilling match with Glasgow City. Both teams went close to opening the scoring in the early exchanges and Leanne Calder brought out a wonderful save from the visiting keeper before a lightning quick attack saw the Glasgow side open the scoring after 33mins. Inverness pushed for the equaliser and Lisa Mackenzie forced the keeper into another magnificent save with a thunderous 25 yard strike. Glasgow City were making it hard for the home side with their well organised defence before Leanne Calder sprung the offside trap to level the scores after 73mins and send the tie into extra time. Both sides went all out for the all important first goal as the half ended with the teams still locked at 1-1. Glasgow scored what proved to be the winner in the first minute of the second period and try as they might Inverness never looked like levelling and taking the tie to penalty kicks.
