Inverness Ladies got their League campaign underway with a convincing victory last weekend. A blistering start saw the Highland side 3-0 up after only twelve mins. Julia Scott opened the scoring after four mins with a well struck shot and the same player doubled the lead on 10 mins after a mazy run which saw her beat several defenders and her powerful drive went in off the far post. Rebecca Dempster made it 3-0 two mins later when she beat the keeper with a well placed lob as Inverness continued to pour forward. To their credit the Edinburgh side refused to give up and pulled a goal back on the half hour mark before Leanne Calder made it 4-1 at half time. The second half was a more even affair with both teams creating chances before Calder netted her second to complete the scoring with twenty mins remaining.
