Scottish Cup Semi-Final

Inverness Ladies were knocked out off the Scottish Cup after a brave display against cup holders Hibs. For long spells the Highland side matched their Premier League opponents and came close to scoring on a number of occasions. Hibs started brightly and keeper Kim Jappy produced a couple of fine early saves to keep the Edinburgh side at bay before Natalie Bodiam almost broke the deadlock when she charged down a clearance from the Hibs keeper but the ball just cleared the far post. Lorraine Cadden went even closer when her well struck free kick shaved the post with the keeper beaten. Hibs scored the only goal of the first half on 33mins following a corner kick. Inverness went to sleep at a throw in on 50 mins and found themselves 2-0 down before they produced their best spell in the match. Julia Scott left a trail of defenders in her wake before being thwarted by the keeper and from the resultant corner Dawn Fraser saw her bullet like header rebound off the crossbar before Hibs added a third with 10mins remaining. Despite this defeat Inverness emerged with a great deal of credit and will now concentrate on their eight remaining League games in a confident frame of mind.
