Scottish Cup Quarter-Final

Inverness stormed into the semi-finals off the Scottish cup when they demolished Cowdenbeath last weekend. Revenge was the spur for the home side following two recent league defeats to the Fife side and it was Inverness who started brightly and they took the lead on 12mins when Julie Scott rifled home a cross from Denise Mackenzie. Natalie Bodiam almost doubled the lead but her shot cannoned off the crossbar. Inverness went 2-0 on the stroke of half time when Leanne Calder found the bottom corner with a well struck shot. Inverness continued to pour forward in the second half and Calder made it 3-0 on 56mins and Nicola Ross made it four on 62mins. Cowdenbeath could do nothing to stem the flow off attacks towards their goal and Sarah Main made it 5-0 before Julia Scott netted her second to complete the rout. This was Inverness’s best performance of the season and they now face Premier league and Scottish cup holders Hibs in the semi finals.

Team

Kim Jappy, Claire Masterton, Dawn Fraser, Nicola Ross, Julie Scott, Sarah Main, Karen Mason, Denise Mackenzie, Lorraine Cadden (Eilidh Mackay 70mins), Leanne Calder, Natalie Bodiam. Unused Angie Campbell, Fiona Cuthbert.
