Scottish Cup 2nd Round

Inverness Ladies returned to winning ways last weekend when they defeated Dalkeith to reach the last 16 of the Scottish Cup. Both teams started in determined fashion and home keeper Kim Jappy had to make a couple of early saves as Dalkeith threatened. Inverness came agonisingly close to taking the lead on 20mins when Natalie Bodiam outstripped the visitors defence and saw her well struck shot rebound of the upright. The opening goal arrived on 32 mins when Karen Mason beat the keeper with a well placed shot. The second half saw both teams attacking and the Inverness defence that had recently leaked goals stood firm as Dalkeith pressed for an equaliser. The victory was secured in the final minute when Leanne Calder sprung the offside trap and beat the advancing keeper to send Inverness into the next round.
