Scottish League Cup

Inverness crashed out of the League cup when they were well beaten by a very impressive Dundee Utd side last weekend. The writing was on the wall as early as the 10th minute when United took the lead which was doubled 7mins later after poor defending at a corner kick. Leanne Calder threw the Highland side a lifeline 4mins later from the penalty spot and Nicola Ross thought she had equalised when she headed home a Sarah Main corner but the goal was disallowed for an alleged push. As Inverness pushed forward they were caught out when a swift counter attack saw Utd extend their lead with 20mins remaining. This proved to be the decisive goal and with Inverness chasing the game they conceded a further two goals in the closing minutes to end up a well beaten side.

Team

Kim Jappy, Claire Masterton, Nicola Ross, Molly Alexander, Sarah Main, Dawn Fraser (Danielle Douglas 50mins), Eilidh Mackay (Sinead Furlong 80mins), Lorraine Cadden, Natalie Bodiam (Angie Campbell 73mins).
