Scottish League Division 1 Inverness Ladies reached the semi-finals off the League cup after a thrilling battle with Troon last weekend. The Highland side made the perfect start when Natalie Bodiam rifled a 25yard rocket into the roof of the net after only 17 seconds. Both teams created chances before Karen Mason doubled the lead on the stroke of half time with another powerful drive. The tie appeared over within 5mins of the restart when a fine solo run from Eilidh Mackay saw her beat the keeper with a well struck shot. To their credit Troon refused to accept defeat and netted 3 times in 12mins to draw level at 3-3 before Bodiam again fired Inverness ahead on 70mins. Troon sent the tie into extra time when they netted with 15mins remaining. The match was settled when the highly impressive Sarah Main scored direct from a corner kick in the first period of extra time. Team Kim Jappy, Sarah Main, Nicola Ross, Dawn Fraser, Molly Alexander, Karen Mason, Danielle Douglas, Stephanie Cameron, Eilidh Mackay, Natalie Bodiam, Angie Campbell. Unused: Sinead Furlong.
