Scottish League Division 1 Inverness returned to winning ways when they netted a last minute winner against a plucky Muirieston last weekend to secure all three points. Early exchanges were fairly even and home keeper Kim Jappy produced a couple of fine saves and at the other end Karen Mason and Leanne Calder both went close as the first half ended goalless. Inverness dominated the second half and Lorraine Cadden and Eilidh Mackay both whipped in several telling crosses but found the Muirieston keeper in inspired form as she pulled off a string of super saves. With 90minutes virtually up Leanne Calder burst through the Muirieston defence and her 18 yard shot deceived the keeper for a deserved winner. Team Kim Jappy, Sarah Main, Nicola Ross, Sam Hughes, Molly Alexander, Eilidh Mackay, Fiona Cuthbert, Karen Mason, Stephanie Cameron, Lorraine Cadden, Leanne Calder. Unused: Angie Campbell, Rhian MacGillivray, Sinead Furlong, Danielle Douglas. Fixture: 25-Mar-2007 |
