The club was formerly known as Inverness Caledonian Thistle Ladies F.C. and in 2005 won the Division 2 championship as well as reaching the League Cup Final where they were narrowly beaten by Forfar Farmington after extra time. The club also reached the Division Plate final losing to Arthurlie. The squad for 2005-2006 consisted of eighteen players, of which nine were aged under eighteen. Their aim was to consolidate their position in Division 1. They finished the season safe in eighth place. Season, 2006-2007 had the aim of improving their position in the league and hopefully get a good run in both the Scottish and League cups. As it turned out, Inverness Ladies FC can reflect on a very successful season which saw them win the Scottish League Cup. They also had a strong finish to their League campaign winning seven and drawing two of their last ten games which lays the foundations for a promotion push next season. Season 2008-2009 saw the team gain promotion to the Scottish Womens' Football Premier League. There was a short season 2009 as the league turned to summer football. The club took the opportunity to gain experience in the higher league. Season 2010 is their first full season within the Scottish Womens' Football Premier League, where they sit mid table. |
